Sheeting refers to an industrial technique where paper or similar materials are sliced into designated dimensions of length and width. Machines known as sheeters transform expansive rolls into more manageable sheets tailored to diverse requirements. Certain sheeters execute cuts for length and width in distinct steps, whereas others perform both concurrently. These machines can either process pre-existing rolls or operate in conjunction with equipment like extruders, calendars, or laminators to directly convert their output.
The sheets produced may serve as final products, but more often, they feed into subsequent sheet-based manufacturing or packaging operations, including thermoforming, die-cutting, or laminating. Prevalent uses of sheeting span products like laminated glass, automotive interiors, medical equipment, digital printing outputs, and composites.
Beyond merely cutting to length, sheeters can incorporate additional features such as Slitters for simultaneous width trimming, Stackers to neatly arrange sheets after cutting, and Winders to roll up extended sheets while automatically stacking them.
