5 Station Cantilevered Unwind, Single Station Rewind Cross Web Sheeter

The system is composed of a set of five parallel and adjacent unwinds, a pair of opposed cross web sheeters with a servo gripper system, a servo hitch feed with ultrasonic spot welders, and a rewinder. Seven web guides control the paths of the seven individual webs.  A sophisticated electrical control is located within the main electrical enclosure and consists of a PLC, servo drives, VFD drives, and a control program.  The objective of the machine is to combine and spot weld up to five longitudinal webs side-by-side with a repeating cross web into a wide blanket of plastic material with top plies that are orientated perpendicularly to the bottom longitudinal plies and in two layers of thickness with no overlaps.

· Web guide with Edge trim (to maintain exact width for increment accuracy)

· Pneumatic driven guillotine cut off (for cross cut length)

· Splice station for each unwind

· Vacuum Linear Cross Web Increment (2ea opposing)

· Servo driven Horizontal linear slides and Servo driven Vertical axis

· Slaved servo nip set

· Accuracy placement of cross web:  under 1 pli tension +/- .020 at the gripper contact points for: mechanical placement in the machine direction

· Servo driven Hitch feed increment system mounted to Linear slides

· Hitch feed designed for up to 30 pli tension

· Rotary cutter for cut off of web.

· Web guide Array and Ultrasonic welders

· Welding support structure for Ultrasonic welders  

· Structure to handle cable management of high frequency cables, I/O cables, and air lines.

· Allen Bradley Compact Guard Logix Platform Programmable Logic with touch screen display

· Electrical- 480 Volts  60 Cycles 3 Phase- main machine disconnect

· 230 Volts, 60 cycles 1 phase for ultrasonic welders only
