Custom Hydro Sponge Press
The Press System processes material sheets through cutting, inspection, and conveyance, comprising a rotator module, press module, feed table, and exit conveyor. Key functions include:
- Material Loading and Inspection (Rotator Module): The rotator module facilitates controlled loading and unloading of material for the press, allowing operator inspection for defects. A safety pin locks the module if an operator enters the inspection area during operation when the lift is raised.
- Press Cutting (Press Module): In manual mode, with the pump on and safety circuit enabled, the press platen can be jogged up or down or cycled, with its position tracked by an encoder (zeroed at full-up). The platen jogs to stop blocks to set the cutting position. During a cycle, the platen lowers at standby pressure, switches to high pressure for the cut dwell when at the cutting position, and returns. A die is clamped using a die release switch, with a stop block ensuring repeatable die installation.
- Material Positioning (Feed Table): The feed table, equipped with vacuum to secure parts, conveys material into the press cavity for cutting. Four lasers assist in aligning uncut parts. The table moves in for cuts at two positions to fully cut the sheet, then exits, allowing a lift to pick up the cut part.
- Part Conveyance and Inspection (Exit Conveyor): The exit conveyor transports cut parts out of the machine after the lift deposits them. Parts are incremented outside the guarded area for operator inspection. After removing rejects, the operator presses a green pushbutton to convey approved parts into a customer-provided container.
